What Advertising Can Learn from Radiohead
A lot, quite frankly.
Ian Tait put together this great video about the innovative marketing tactics Radiohead continues to break new ground with.
Basically it’s all about how I don’t like Radiohead, but how, through being interesting and innovative, they’ve made me like the ‘idea’ of Radiohead. Imagine if normal brands could do that. Make you care about products you don’t even like that much. I reckon there’s stuff we can learn from the ‘head.

Ryan. Such a cool video! When they put out the tracks from In Rainbows for their fans to remix, I thought that was one of the coolest ideas in music in a long time.
Also, I think it’s worth noting that it doesn’t have to be a new, fresh band to use this effectively. Radiohead has been around for a long time; but this marketing has put them back on the map for a lot of people–or on the map for the first time as this video shows us. I love it!

Josh - good point. Quite honestly, I’m late to the Radiohead scene, and it’s largely because of the amazing creative work I’ve seen in the last year from them that’s won me over.
